Like the temperatures on course, the Austrian Ladies Team served up some hot golf at the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship in Mexico.
BIG MAX was proud to equip and support the team with a specially designed version of the stylish BIG MAX Aqua 8 carry bag; and the team did BIG MAX and Austria proud when it came down to the high pressure final round. The youngest player on the team, Emma Spitz, led the way securing back to back pars followed by a pair of birdies. Despite dropping back with an unfortunate double bogey, the promising youngster steadied the ship on the back 9 coming in with an impressive 76 (+4).
Ines Fendt and Leonie Bettel didn’t fare quite as well, both signing for a disappointing 81 (+9). Innes was at least consistent with 11 bogeys but Vienese golfer Leonie couldn’t find her rhythm, posting a double and a quadruple among some decent golf.
Against the best in the world and subject to tough conditions the Austrian team didn’t play their best, but can be rightly proud of their 23rd place finish with a total score of 16+. BIG MAX is delighted to have played a small part in helping the players round and wishes them the best in their next challenge.
